Emily is the Southern California Regional Development Leader for the Adult Congenital Heart Association. In this week's episode, she shares her story of having Shone syndrome, a congenital heart defect. She was diagnosed at 6 months, went into heart failure at age 15 and has had four open heart surgeries.
We discuss the medical advancements that has helped adults with a congenital heart disease live longer and the ability to not only have a good quality of life, but thrive!
